Calvin and the HAT

Calvin's (and his buddy Jaren) new thing to do is wear their hats backwards with their bangs poking out the hole in the back where you adjust the size. He had to wear his hat during his soccer game. He spent the whole game checking to make sure his hair was just right. Forget the ball man, how's my hair? It was the most entertaining game I've been to. I laughed my butt off the whole game.

He doesn't play the game at all yet. He fiddles with his clothes, pulls his socks above his knees and tries to pull the grass out using the cleats on the bottom of his shoes.

It's going to be a GREAT season. I think he has awesome potential to be a good player. He is fast. During practice the team was using his ball. He didn't understand and took off after his ball. He cruised past the other players. Do you think we can use his ball in the game? It might help keep him focused. :)

This sounds like the way that Austin plays soccer. At least you are sticking with it - we gave it up after one painstaking season. I LOVE the hat fettish. I think it's hilarious.

The hat is awesome! Soccer gives me so many mixed emotions. The kids are cute no matter what. And there's always a few kids on the team who are actually good at soccer. That doesn't usually include my kids, so I have to content myself with being proud of them for other reasons. Like, they're very POLITE to the other players. They usually know where the ball IS. At least this season they do. They even know which direction to go! We've made it through two seasons now with the twins. Can we keep going?
