Technoloy, such a beautiful thing :)

This is Katja

Katja is one of my closest friends yet she lives the farthest away. She is half way around the world. She lives in Leipzig, Germany. Brian met her family while he was on his mission. She was around 14 years old when her family was baptized. Brian's parents offered to have her come to America (Utah ;) and stay with them any time she'd like. She came out every two years and stayed the whole summer. When I met Brian, she had come out that summer and we hit it off. You know when you meet someone and you have this instant connection like you've known each other forever. That's what it was like and we've been close ever since.

Now, she is married in the Temple to her best friend. He is wonderful and treats her like a queen. They have a beautiful little boy named Adrian. He is their whole world and the sweetest little boy. He is so lucky:)

I love technology. It would really stink to not have it. I instant message her every day. I feel so grateful to live in a time when I can do that. It usually takes forever to send her a letter the old fashioned way;) I love, love email and I love, love, love IM.

Sparkles

I absolutely love the sparkle in my kids eyes. Calvin's eyes sparkle everytime he learns something new. Brooklyn's sparkle when she has worked really hard on something and we tell what a wonderful job she has done. At those moments, I completely understand why they say parenting is the most rewarding job.

Ahhh!!

Don't you just love the sound of birds chirping in the spring and kids laughing and giggling outside. It's a refreshing sound. That's all I have to say about that.

I decided to break down and spend more money for a (I hoped) better vacuum. I decided to buy a Dyson. Best thing I have done all year (pathetic, I know).

In the past when I've used my steam cleaner to attempt to clean the carpets, I'd would get (this is so grose) a ton of cat hair. It would make me gag just trying to get it out. So today, I vacuumed with my Dyson once, then went over it with my carpet cleaner. Almost no cat hair. A teeny tiny bit.

My testimonial: You must buy this vacuum. It's AWESOME!!!

Oh No Naughty

Calvin kept asking us to play the "oh no naughty" song. It took us forever to figure out that he wanted "Benjamin's Calipso" from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. "Oh no, not he" is the first few words of the song.

Update

March 25th, I went in for an ultrasound. Just for my peace of mind. We saw the baby moving and the heart was beating at 170 bpm. The baby measured 11 weeks 3 days in size. In my mind, I honestly thought I was close enough to the end of the 1st trimester to be considered safe. I felt completely confident that everything would be fine throughout the rest of my pregnancy.



April 8th, exactly two weeks later, I went in for my regular appointment to find out that the heart had stopped beating. I was sent for another ultrasound to confirm the bad news. I asked the tech, Mellissa, whom I had gotten to know very well from having ultrasounds every two weeks, if she could measure it and tell me exactly when the heart stopped. The baby measured 11 weeks 3 days in size. The heart had stopped beating sometime during that next 12-24 hours after the ultrasound on March 25th. I felt so blindsighted. I don't know how to explain it other than that. The reality of it is slowly sinking in.



I've gathered all of the baby magazines, books, previous ultrasound pics and anything else that will be a reminder and I've either tossed it or put it into a box in the basement. I've returned the maternity clothes that I purchased last week. I've listed the rest that I had on KSL hopefully to be sold soon. I'm just glad that I hadn't bought any baby clothes.



So far the hardest thing to do was to tell my kids. Brooklyn was upset and cried. Calvin just kept asking when it was coming back. I had to tell him several times that it went back to live with Heavenly Father and that it wasn't coming back.



I had a D&C Wed, April 9th. It totally sucked. Great choice of words, huh. Now, I just need to find something to keep me busy and going. Any suggestions?
