Spotting...ugggg

Last night after I put my vacuum away and the kids to bed, I headed to the potty and I found bright red blood in my undies. I was so upset. I couldn't figure out why I would be miscarring with such strong pregnancy symptoms. Then I got to thinking about the two cysts that I had on my left ovary. I figured it was probably that because it stopped after a while.

I called the Dr. this morning and they said that I could come in and have an ultrasound. I am actually scheduled for tomorrow. I took the appointment anyways. The u/s confirmed my thoughts about one of the cysts rupturing. It had caused some bleeding in the lining of my uterus too. It must have aggravated it enough to cause the placenta to lift away from the wall a little. They said to take it easy and come to my appointment with my doctor who was off today.

I got to see the heart beating today. It was about 116 bpm. They said anything above 100 bpm at six weeks is really good. They also said that the baby and gestational sac are measuring at six weeks. Exactly where it needs to be. Hopefully tomorrow all will be good and I will feel so much better about it all.

Ultrasound results 5 weeks

The ultrasound results looked really good!! There is a gestational sac measuring 5.2mm which is right where is should be. We could also see the yolk sac which is also a very good indicator that things are progressing perfectly.

This is when the last one died. I went in at six weeks to see the heart beat and the gestational sac was this same size. I have another u/s next week. If there is a heart beat, I honestly will feel like this will be a successful pregnancy. Wish me luck!!! or should I say "pray for us."

Results!!!

The results are in: 1900mIU/ml. Woo hoo!!!! Those are great numbers. I get to have an ultrasound today in 1 hour. The ob office policy for patients with a history of ectopics is to ultrasound each week until in the clear. I will also have an ultrasound next Thursday.

This is my chart for this month. I am so happy to have a chart to compare in case something happens and I miscarry. I've continued to temp also. I'm going to for about 2 more weeks. Hopefully my temps will stay up.

The Worst Weekend Ever

I don't think I've had a weekend that I didn't cry, fight or scream all over a stupid vacuum. I want a Dyson. Is that too much to ask for? I've researched it, found the best price, and do you think that it's unreasonable to pay $275.00 tax free for a brand new still in box vacuum? I think it's pretty darn good especially that it's $400.00.

I think that for one last bit of research, I'll head out for the consumer reports at Barnes&Noble. I've read everyones reviews, now it's up to the professionals.

2nd Results

Well they doubled: 360 mu/ml. Good? Not sure. The nurse sounded so unsure. She said that they like to see the numbers dramatically rise, not just double.

My thoughts: It's over!! My symptoms are going away. No more sore ninnies. That's key one for me. The soreness goes away every month one day before my new cycle will start. With my last miscarriage, that is what happened. I knew something was wrong and I know something is wrong this time.

I have another test on Monday. If they aren't in the thousands, which I doubt, then it's over for sure. Wish me luck because I don't have a positive thought left.

How to tell people?

I've been trying to come up with some fun ideas how to tell our families. I thought it would be fun to order M&M's with a personalized "Baby #3 Oct 2008" on blue and pink candies. For me to order the M&M's, I have to order at least $100.00. I'm not sure I want to put that much into it. I don't want to have the t-shirts that say "big sister" or "big brother." I want it to be a little more original. I know M&M's aren't original but they cost so much that most people don't use them. I must continue my search...

Exhaustion

Exhaustion has set in.....zzzzzz I ran this morning, only two miles, and I am so sleepy. I haven't heard from the nurse concerning my hcg levels. But I've been nauseous, heartburn, sleepy and headachy. I "think" everything will be ok.

My great running partner!!

I told my friend, Shauna, today that I am pregnant. I was so nervous but she was so excited for me. I told her that I didn't want her to be upset because I can't put in those long runs with her. They are tough, especially alone. She said that she would want me to have the baby that I've desired for so long than run the marathon. It really eased my mind. Thank you Shauna for understanding. :)

Ultrasound results

The ultrasound went very well. The tech said that the lining was 1 cm and it appears that I have a corpus luteal follicle on my left ovary. This is good because my left fallopian tube was clear during my hsg. If it was on my right, I would have a high percentage for an ectopic again. I haven't heard from the nurse on the hcg levels yet. It will probably be tomorrow.

Every morning between 9am and 10am, I get major morning sickness. I almost threw up today. I dry heaved but nothing came up. As of right now, 3:30pm, I feel great. In fact, I don't feel any different at all.

I need to get in a run tonight. I got on the treadmill this afternoon but just walked. I was nervous to start running but I think I'll try tonight. I need to do 3 miles tonight, 4 tomorrow, and 3 thursday. I need to call my friend and tell her about the pregnancy. I'm hoping she'll be okay with me biking with her. We shall see..

Ouch!!!!!

Holy cramps, Batman!!! I can't help but think there is something wrong. It's in my nature I guess. I worried all night that my temps will be lower today. Luckly they were higher. Good sign:) Phew... But I have the worst cramps ever. More so than my normal monthly period. Well, I go in for my ultrasound and blood work at 11:15. Then I go back on Thursday for my second blood test to see if the hcg levels are climbing. Wish me luck....:$

Ultrasound/Bloodtest

The nurse called to tell me that they want to see me tomorrow for an ultrasound and blood draw. I had an ectopic pregnancy nine years ago and I'm high risk for another. I had a hsg test to see if my fallopian tubes were open. That tube is partially blocked which confirmed that I am at risk. She said that they want to look at the uterine lining to see if it's preparing correctly. If not then it could indicate an upcoming problem. They will also draw my blood to measure my hcg levels and to have a base level to compare. I'll post the results as I get them.

The nurse (Jean) was so nice. She wanted me to keep her posted on any cramping or major pain.

I'm FINALLY pregnant again!!

Yesterday I took "the test." Positive, positive, positive... It's been 18 longs months since my miscarriage and I am still in disbelief. Hopefully, I can get to have blood tests done to monitor my hcg levels.

We jinxed ourselves:) We've been planning on surprising our kids with a trip to Disneyland in October. October 5th-14th to be exact. My estimated due date is October 14th. How funny is that. We actually joked about it Saturday. I'll take the baby over Disneyland any day. Although if my kids knew of either event, they'd pick Disneyland.

I had so much anxiety this morning. All I could do was shake. I called my OB to schedule a six week ultrasound and ask for the blood tests. Then, here comes the panick, all I could think was "what if I don't make it to the six week point?" I hope this isn't another test of patience. I must not be learning because I keep getting tested. I am excited and very grateful for this pregnancy. I wasn't sure that I wanted anymore after I had Calvin but I kept having a strong feeling that we should have two more. Last time I was pregnant, I was scared because Calvin has been just an energetic kiddo and I didn't know if I could take on an infant with him. The more I thought it through the more excited I became. Then it was gone. I couldn't understand why I would feel so strongly about more kids and then miscarry. I just didn't make sense. I know that the Lord has a plan for us and I'm willing to let it happen.

Also, my marathon plans have now been put on hold. I am going to continue running as long as my body will allow me to. I just won't be putting on more miles. My great friend, Shauna, is a marathon go-getter. She has been encouraging me to do this and I was just getting to the point where I was getting into it. She is a wonderful friend and I hope that she'll understand. It's so hard to train alone. Running 2-3 hours out on the roads by yourself is so lonely. You can listen to music or anything you download onto your ipod but it's nice to have someone to talk to, plan your routes with and share the experience. I might ride my bike while she runs. It'll help with more weight control. (just downed two Reese peanut butter cups, not starting out very good)
