I had my appointment today and everything looks great. Still measuring a few weeks small on the outside but just fine on the inside. A few weeks ago I talked to my dr about possibly inducing me on my dads birthday which is March 30th. His health is declining quickly and I thought it would be good to have at least one grandchild born on his birthday. It's always fun to share your birthday with a grandparent.
We looked at the calender today and March 30th is three days too early to justify at this point. He can safely say April 2nd (not too bad, April 1st is my dad's mom's b-day). The only way to be induced on the 30th will be to have my blood pressure go up. The dr seems to think that it will. He's giving me an 80% chance that it will.
I have a history of high blood pressure. Obviously genetic because I don't fall into the normal catagory for high blood pressure problems. I'm not over weight (I know I should lose a little), I exercise and eat decently. When I was preg with Brooklyn my blood pressure spiked the day they induced me. I really think it was the Lords way of getting them to look at the real problem which was my amniotic fluid levels were dangerously low.
When I was preg with Calvin, my blood pressure was high the whole time. I didn't ever have any other signs for toxemia so they just watched me. I thought that over time it would return to normal after I had Calvin and began running, playing soccer, spinning and training seriously for races. Nothing changed so I have been on medication ever since. It's seems to be very well controlled and I haven't had any spikes.
My dr seems to think that it will become a problem at the end so that may allow the March 30th induction. Cross your fingers that I only have elevated blood pressure on that day. :) (nothing more serious, please)

I´ll keep my fingers crossed every day. It would be so nice for you to have him on the 30th of March. I also pray that everything will be ok with your blood pressure just on that special day a little more so they will decide to get him. Only 65 more days to go. Time went by so fast.
ok, I have to admit, I have never wished someone's blood pressure to go up, but in your case i will :)
How about I just pray for the March 30th part and leave out the HBP part? That way, if it works, you'll have a beautiful baby on your Dad's birthday and no other problems! It's a win-win situation, right! By the way, I love the picture in your last post. Way cute! :)
Kimmie, just tell your Dr. it is a cruel joke to have a baby on Apr. 1 No April Fools! I have to agree with what Laura said. I will wish for March 30 just because...no HBP! I want a healthy kimmie and a healthy baby fahrvergnugen...I mean fagergren.
your belly is so stinkin cute! (and small still, too!) i agree with ellen - no baby should be born on april fools day! i'll be praying for you and thinking happy thoughts for march 30th!!!
Ha ha, my great grandpa didn't believe them when they went out to get him. He thought they were joking. It really was my grandma's birthday.
So cool that your doc will talk about a date already! Mine says they're not "allowed" to talk about inducing until 36 weeks. LUCKY! :)
Wow! Your pregnancy has flown by (for me at least)!
